Submit Abstract

To participate in the conference, please complete the attached Abstract Submission Template following the provided instructions.

Please read the following instructions carefully before submitting your abstract.

  • Each participant may submit 2 communications as presenting author: one oral presentation and one poster, or two posters.
  • The presenting author must be registered in the conference.
  • Participants must download the abstract template and fill it in with the required information.
  • In the document, author names should be written in the following format: Surname, First Name (e.g., Silva, João).
  • Each participant must indicate whether their submission is for an oral presentation (O) or a poster (P).
  • Participants must specify the topic to which their presentation is related
  • The abstract should summarise the original research conducted, aligned with the conference themes. Additionally, it is necessary to indicate the archaeometric techniques used and the geographical area and chronological framework when applicable.
  • At the end of the document, students must indicate whether they wish to compete for the Early Career Researcher Award (both poster and oral will be considered). All other participants will automatically be considered for the Best Communication Award. For more details about the awards, please visit the Awards section on our website.

File Naming Format:

Surname_Name_O_T1_EMAC2025_Bilbao

Surname_Name → Author’s surname and first name – only the presenting author

O or P → «O» for oral presentation, «P» for poster

T# → «T» followed by the topic number (the event includes seven topics)

EMAC2025_Bilbao → Conference name and location

Example: Silva_Joao_P_T5_EMAC2025_Bilbao

In this example, the participant is submitting a poster under Topic 5: Digital and data-driven ceramic studies (e.g., AI, machine learning, big data, photogrammetry, etc.).

The abstract submission deadline is 30 March 2025, and notifications of acceptance will be sent by mid-May 2025.

We kindly ask all participants to follow these guidelines carefully, as this will help us streamline the organization of numerous submissions.

The scientific committee will evaluate the quality and suitability of the abstracts. The organizing committee will determine the order and type of presentation (oral or poster) based on the previous decision, the number of presentations, and the available time.
